My Dear Friends in Christ,
In this last Sunday of Advent, we want to highlight the most important reminders as we ‘round the corner and speed toward Christmas. In these crazy hectic days, we pray for and with one another, that God may bless us with His Light and help us to choose JOY.
We are happy and excited and (almost) ready for Christmas. We expect a great number of people to join us and are so eager to welcome them all. If you have family or friends who have been away for a while or just need Jesus Christ and the warmth of community, bring them with you. Share the Good News by inviting someone to be with us. We’re reaching out in a special way with the Christmas Eve Mass at the Brunswick Firehall at 6 P.M. Consider celebrating at this Mass, even if you’re from Holy Family. It’s a great opportunity, not just for the parking and seating, but also to provide a sense of our great community to those who may be joining us for the first time or the first time in a while. We’ll have a special section for young families with excited children, so no one has to worry. We’re transforming the hall into a sacred space, made holy by the presence of God’s people. The Mass at 4 P.M. at Holy Family on Christmas Eve is always crowded. Fire regulations force us to limit the number of cars in the parking lot and the number of people who can enter. It’s a great problem to have again, but you may want to consider the Mass at the Firehall. BE PATIENT with us. Most of the people you’ll encounter are volunteers who are looking, most of all, to help everyone who walks in the door have an encounter with Jesus.
Most importantly, pray for all of those who will be joining us. Pray that, as they come to us looking for God and God’s grace, they may encounter Jesus Christ not only in the Eucharist but in our hearts, our smiles and our welcome. Greet everyone. No one is a stranger at Christmas, not at Church and not in our community. Choose JOY and share that JOY with others.
