FAMILY FAITH FORMATION
Family Faith Formation
Let us come alongside you as your build a Firm Foundation for your Family
Family Faith Formation is a place for pastorate families to gather together in the supportive net of our community to encounter Jesus and the teachings of His Church.
Starting in September, families will gather every other Sunday morning (from 9:00am-10:45am in the Legacy room) for a time of fellowship, fun, and growing in our faith. Part of this time will be spent with the whole family together, sharing a meal and building bonds with one another and with other families in the community. Then, we will break into age-groups. During this time, the children and teens will go with their catechists to a fun, open, and prayerful environment and receive a faith foundation together with other kids their age. The adults will then have time to focus on their own faith lives through presentations, small group discussions, and prayer.
FFF F.A.Q.
Is this a drop-off program?
No, this is not a drop-off program. This is a program for adults and children to attend together. At least one parent must attend with your child(ren). Your whole family is welcome and highly encouraged to attend!
Who is this program for?
Family Faith Formation is for anyone who would like to register and attend! During the part of the session when we will break into age-groups, adults and teens (11th-12th grade) will stay in Legacy, babies (6 months to 2 years) will be welcome in the nursery, and our young people (from age 3 through 10th grade) will go with other children their age to a classroom in the building. Infants are welcome to stay with their parents in Legacy.
How does Family Faith Formation fit in with first reconciliation and first Communion?
In order to sign-up for a sacramental preparation program (for first reconciliation and/or first Communion), a child must have completed the previous year of faith formation last year AND currently be enrolled in and receiving faith formation this year. Your child may receive this required faith formation in a Catholic school setting or through our Family Faith Formation program. Please keep in mind that first reconciliation and first Communion preparation is a separate program which does not take place during Family Faith Formation. You can find more important information about the program on our sacramental preparation page.
How does Family Faith Formation fit in with Confirmation?
In order to sign-up for the confirmation preparation program, a child must have completed a year of faith formation last year (either in a Catholic school setting or through our faith formation program). This year, our confirmation program will take place during Family Faith Formation. So, if you would like to register your child to prepare for confirmation, then make sure to mark that as you complete the Family Faith Formation registration form. For more important information about this program (including requirements for enrollment), please visit our sacramental preparation page.
My kids attend Catholic school. Where do we fit in?
While Catholic school kids are not required to attend Family Faith Formation to prepare for their sacramental prep year, our Catholic school families are still welcome and encouraged to be a part of this program! Family Faith Formation is all about being woven together in a net of support and encouragement as we all grow closer to Jesus and one another.
Is there a fee for Family Faith Formation?
Yes, registration comes with a flat-fee for all families ($350). Not only does this cover all of the materials used in your faith formation, but it also includes a hearty Sunday morning breakfast for your whole family! If this fee is a burden for your family, please get in touch with the Faith Formation Team. Financial assistance is available to ensure no one is excluded, with a focus on supporting families with financial hardships.
Please reach out to our Faith Formation Team at faithformation@thepastorate.com if you have any other questions or concerns!
