FAMILY & KIDS
Family Faith Formation
Family Faith Formation is a place for pastorate families to gather together in the supportive net of our community to encounter Jesus and the teachings of His Church. From September through May, we gather every other Sunday morning for a time of fellowship, fun, and growing in our faith. Part of this time is spent with the whole family together, sharing a meal and building bonds with one another and with other families in the community. Another part of this time is spent in separate age-groups, allowing every member of the family to reflect and grow in their faith at their own level. Sacramental Preparation
We offer a preparation program for First Reconciliation and First Communion every Fall and Spring for children who are in 2nd grade or older. We also offer preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation to teens in 10th grade or older. If you are interested in registering your child for either of these programs, please click below for more information.
Disciples in Training
Disciples in Training (formerly known as Children's Liturgy of the Word) will target children in grades K-2 (up to receiving their first Holy Communion) during the 11 AM Mass at the HFCC Campus.
The format will provide a kid-friendly introduction to the order of the Mass for children who have not received their first Communion. We have developed an age appropriate curriculum based on the message of the Gospel. Children's ministers are always needed, please contact our Director of Disciples in Training, Amanda Douglas, to join our team.
Nursery
During both our 11 AM Mass on Sundays, children 4 years and younger may join us in the nursery in the Legacy Hall. Children's ministers are always needed, please contact our Director of Disciples in Training, Amanda Douglas, to join our team.
First Time Guests
We know dropping your child off in a new place can be intimidating. Tell us you’re new so we can help! Let any one of our volunteer ministers know that you are new, and we will show you around, let you know about our programs and services for children and direct you to the appropriate room for you to check your child in. You'll use the check-in app called "KidCheck" to check them in. You can sign up for an account or see more at the links below! Don't forget to download the app as well!
Safety
Your child’s safety is our first and foremost priority. All ministers who work with children must pass a background check. We use a sign in process in our nursery on Sundays, and we use text messaging to contact parents if we need to reach you during Mass. For more information on our child and youth protection policies, please visit the Archdiocese of Baltimore website.
